But you could just forget to dust of the flyrod since theres 80cm of ice on every damn lake nearby, so I heard with my friend André and figured out that Tovåssjön was the best option, a p&t lake in the forrest of Hälsingland.
Tovåsen use to give some classic planted artic char around 0,7-0,8 kg, bigger ones are very rare since all the older men go there only to fill up the freezer.
But what don't you do to stop your urge for fishing?
After a whole lot of preparations we finally got in the car and headed towards the lake, we got there by 09.30 and after we'd got our fishingpermits the clock were around 10.00.
We directly went to a place we now since earlier use give some good action, drilled a whole each and after about 15 minutes we got our first contact, a very small, easy little nibble, unfortunaly no hungry char so he just went somewhere else, after 15 more minutes I got some more contact of the exact same kind, and when I looked over at André he sat there while a really big smile on his face, a tight line and bendt rod, I put down my rod to go and help him land the fish, up came a nice char somewhere around the kilo, a couple of pictures and back down in water again.
30 minutes later I got to feel the kick too, and up came an almost identical char. After a while with no contact we moved on and André got to pick up another one, i bit smaller this time, about 0.6 kilos, this one got to see his freedom too after a few pictures.
Myself I didn't get to feel anything for the rest of the day while André got a few more nibbles that almost drove him crazy but without any results, to sum up the day you could say that nothing can beat some nice flyfishing, but what don't you do to kill the urge, at least for a day or two?...
